Each piano has a unique personality. I treat each customer's piano as my own.
Pianos, like people and pets, need care regularly - two to four times a year in most cases*.
Korean-American pianist and piano technician Joseph Yoon was trained at the Piano Technology Program at Oberlin University under John Cavanaugh.
From the age of three, the piano has been a central part of Joseph's life. As a classical pianist, Joseph developed a particular love for Mozart and Chopin. “These two composers alone give us the whole range of expression that the piano can give - from youthful and refreshing to stormy and soulful.”
Since 2019, Joseph has been a core part of the team of technicians at the Interlochen Arts Festival, caring for 280 instruments over the course of an intensive 8-week period. His prefers the time-honored tradition of aural tuning, creating the best sound for each piano.
During this epidemic, my services in homes are still active, taking respectful steps of social distancing and masking. I will likely smile and wave to greet you before donning a mask and gloves to enter your home.
From the 120 piano in the great expanse of Interlochen's outdoor campus, to the 240 Steinways at Oberlin, I would welcome an opportunity to plan to care for your institution's needs.
I treat all of my customers with the greatest care. While I will schedule no more than three tunings per day, I try to leave space for emergency calls. I offer fixed-rate tunings and book plenty of time to make sure that the job is done well.
